Thursday - Departure
Most of our seminar speakers stay at the Hotel Shattuck Plaza. The hotel is located a short distance from the UC Berkeley campus and our department. It is also conveniently next to a BART station, with easy access to both SFO and the Oakland Airport. All seminar speakers are generally booked from Tuesday-Thursday (staying at the hotel Tuesday and Wednesday nights). If a speaker would like additional nights at the hotel, those arrangements must be made by the speaker separately.
Our arrangement with Hotel Shattuck is that UC Berkeley can pay the hotel directly for your hotel stay only, per university policy. If you would like to order meals at the hotel (breakfast, etc.) please pay the hotel directly at the time of purchase and submit the expenses as a part of your travel reimbursement.
Due to our complex university travel policies, we very strongly recommend that speakers allow the PMB department to purchase your airfare directly. If you need a different arrangement, please speak to our front desk staff (email@example.com, (510) 642-9999) in advance so that we can ensure you are purchasing a flight that we are allowed to reimburse you for.
The University will reimburse you for meals en route, transportation costs to and from the airport, and other incidentals. For additional information please see our page on this site: Reimbursements for Seminar Speakers.
